Imposter In The Dark
After surviving an assassination attempt, a powerful politician returns home to his wife, but she knows immediately something is wrong. As secrets unravel inside their own house, she discovers the man wearing her husband’s face may be only one of many.
Tell me where you are right now.
ICU. Why are you texting like that?
Because you are downstairs.
Elise.
No I'm not.
Secret Service drove you home at 9:12.
Then don't let him see your phone.
Stop doing this.
Ask him about the scar under my jaw.
I just did.
He said the stitches faded.
Faded isn't gone.
It's gone.
Lock the bathroom door.
Already locked.
Put a towel at the bottom.
Done.
Listen to me.
He can copy my face. He can't copy every mistake.
Then prove it.
What did you break on our honeymoon?
I asked him.
He said the hotel lamp.
It was your ankle. The lamp was the lie we told your mother.
He's outside the door and he just said, 'Elise, why are you texting yourself?'
