The Last Bus

The Last Bus

After boarding the last bus of the night, teenager Nora Vale realizes something is deeply wrong. At every stop, more passengers vanish than she remembers leaving, the driver never speaks, and the route drifts farther from anything familiar. As the bus carries her into a nightmare where faces can be copied and home is no longer safe, Nora has to prove who she is before something wearing her life takes her place.

I almost missed the last bus.

Then run?

I did. Door opened before I touched it.

That is not creepy enough for 1:12 a.m.

It gets worse.

Driver didn't look at me. Didn't say a word.

Normal bus-driver behavior.

No. I mean not even when I asked if this was the 17.

He just pointed down the aisle.

Okay. Weird.

There were eleven people when I got on.

I counted because one guy was staring at me.

Love that for you.

We stopped at Harbor Road.

Three people got off.

Then I looked up again.

There were only six left.

Maybe you counted wrong.

I didn't.

That guy who kept staring?

His seat is empty.

Move closer to other people.

There's this older woman in front of me.

She hasn't blinked once.

Don't talk when the doors open.

Mika.

She never turned around.

Get off at the next stop.

There is no next stop on this street.

We just passed the cemetery.
